Maseru, Feb.13 — Lesotho Nursing and Midwifery Organisation (LNMO), formally known as Lesotho Nurses Association has now transformed to a trade union.
Lesotho Nursing Trade Union (LNTU) emphasised this transformation is a new journey that they are ready to embark on with a renewed commitment and under a new legal framework.
LNTU President, Mr. Busa Qhala speaking to the Agency noted that the union affiliates with the International Council of Nurses (ICN) which is operated by nurses and works to ensure the quality nursing care for all and health policies globally.
He indicated that this significant change of association to Union was considered due to the fact that Unions have sovereignty over Association in terms of authorising every nurse to register with the Ministry of Labour which will be an advantage to them with regard to salaries, benefits and good working environment. . .
