LMPS CONCERNED ON SALE OF ALCOHOL TO UNDERAGES

Maseru,Dec.29 — The Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) management has shown great concern on the sale and supply of alcoholic beverages to under age children.

This, the LMPS said through its Public Relations Office which it said it is contrary to the dictates of the Liquor Licencing Act No. 8 particularly section 39 which explicitly prohibits the supplying of liquor to children under the age of 18 including purchasing the same for them.

The LMPS showed that it is also an offence in terms of the same Act for anyone to send a child to purchase liquor or to purchase liquor for a child. . .
