LMPS TO HOLD MEN’S FORUM

Maseru, Nov.27 — The Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) will hold a Men’s Forum at the Police Training College (PTC) in Maseru on Friday.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Thursday, the LMPS Public Relations Officer, Senior Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli, said the purpose of the forum is to bring men together to deliberate on strategies to end Gender-Based Violence (GBV), which continues to affect men, women and girls across the country.

He explained that the discussions will also emphasise the roles and responsibilities traditionally entrusted to men within their communities, workplaces and   roles that are  essential in fostering safety, responsibility and mutual respect.

Mopeli added that since GBV is not an issue that concerns LMPS alone, the forum has been extended to other security agencies, the private sector, the business community as well as transport operators, among others.

Senior Superintendent Mopeli further mentioned that the forum will feature expert presentations, experience-sharing sessions and collaborative dialogue aimed at equipping men with the tools to become proactive agents of change…
