LNFOD EMBARKS ON GBV AWARENENSS CAMPAIGN AHEAD OF 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM

Maseru, Nov. 18– The Lesotho National Federation of Organisations of the Disabled (LNFOD) has embarked on a two weeks awareness campaign against Gender Based Based Violence (GBV) for people with disability and to share with them the Disability Equity Procedural Rule of 2023.

In an interview with the LNFOD Gender officer Mrs. Masenono Letsie, people with disability are twice affected by GBV than the normal people, especially women and girls, adding that the campaign is intended to teach people with disability of their rights regarding the GBV issues, and how they can go about them.

She said LNFOD is committed to the elimination and eradication of GBV perpetuated against people with disabilities within communities. In addition, she stated that this is done ahead of the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV under the theme ”Invest to End Gender Based Violence”. . .
