LOCAL COMMUNITY EXPRESSES CONCERNS OVER DAM INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

Maseru, Mar.26 — The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) recently organized an event at the Manthabiseng Convention Centre in which they discussed the strategic goals and national priorities of phases I and II Projects.

However, the local community has voiced their dissatisfaction with the Polihali dam infrastructure, citing damage to fields and pastures.

In an interview with Mr. Abia Luta, the chief of Likhameng Village in Mokhotlong, he expressed his worry with the dam infrastructure. He emphasized that the land taken away by the project holds significant value as it is passed down through generations as an inheritance.
