MAFOSO STEPS DOWN FROM LIKUENA TO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ASSIGNMENT

Maseru, Jul. 21—The Lesotho Senior National Team Assistant Coach, Mr. Bob Mafoso has stepped down from his role as Likuena assistant coach to focus on the CAF Champions League assignment, where his Namibian side, African Stars is set to commence their campaign in the continental interclub competition in September.

Mikia Kalati, Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) Media and Communications Manager said Mafoso has stepped down and Likuena will soon be returning to work to begin preparations for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, where in September they will play South Africa and Benin respectively in the 2026 World Qualifiers.

Kalati said the African Stars Coach, who recently clinched the league title in Namibia, joined the Likuena technical team working as the assistant coach to Mr. Leslie Notsi following the departure of Serbian coach Veselin Jelusic 2023. . . .
