Maseru, Feb. 06 — History has been made in the country after the media and the National Assembly signed a memorandum of understating on partnership and strengthening of relations among these two arms of the government.

The signing ceremony was made at the New Parliament Building at the top of Mpilo Hill by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Mrs. T’sepang T’sita-Mosena on behalf of the National Assembly, MISA-Lesotho Treasurer Mrs. Celina Leteketa and Ms. Pinkie Moletsane representing African Parliament Press Network (APPN).

Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane officiating at the ceremony said media is the fourth estate of government and that in its bid to take parliament to the people, the National Assembly resolved to engage its partners in order to achieve this goal.

He said the media play a vital role of informing, educating as well as disseminating information to the general public.
