MILITARY ONCOLOGY PHARMACIST PROMOTES HEALTH AWARENESS

Maseru, April,13 — A military oncology pharmacist at the Lesotho Cancer Centre, Mr. Mosiuoa Lesuhlo, is utilising social media platforms to raise awareness on health issues and empower Basotho communities through education.

Mr. Lesuhlo, who specialises in cancer chemotherapy ad-mixing, said he started sharing health-related information online three years ago after identifying a growing need for accurate and reliable medical guidance.

He explained that his initiative was inspired by observations on platforms such as Facebook, where individuals frequently seek medical advice but often receive misleading or incorrect information from the public.

In response, Mr. Lesuhlo said he decided to use his professional expertise to provide verified and trustworthy health information to the public.

He indicated that his content focuses on promoting awareness on various health issues, including the importance of strengthening the immune system through proper nutrition, regular physical exercise, adequate sleep, and good hygiene practices.

Mr. Lesuhlo also highlighted the role of traditional medicine, noting that Basotho have long relied on indigenous remedies for the prevention and treatment of illnesses.

He said some of these traditional treatments are supported by scientific research, complemented by his knowledge of plant anatomy, which studies plant structures and their medicinal properties.
