Maseru, Nov. 15 — The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Limpho Tau officially informed the National Assembly that government through Disaster Management Authority (DMA) started food distribution to needy households countrywide this week.
Addressing the House on Friday, the Minister who apologised for delay in making a statement yet distribution has already started told members, this initiative aims to curb extreme poverty and hunger facing over 700 000 households.
He stipulated that at least 19 744 bags (50kgs) comprising maize, beans and wheat grains amongst others are already available within the Food Management Unit (FMU) stores in the country, indicating development partners are also extending a helping hand in this regard. . .
