MINISTER SPEAKS ON ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN EVALUATION

Maseru, Jan. 11 – The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Mr. Matjato Moteane says road accidents recorded increase during festive season, that is 411 in 2023 as oppose to 394 in 2022.

He said this at a press conference held in Maseru today, Thursday. The gathering was meant to  give feed back on the 2023 road safety Christmas  campaign evaluation.

“Drunken driving and over spreading are the main contributors to the increase of road accidents”, the Minister added.

He mentioned that even though it is saddening that the number of accidents increased but fatalities have decreased from 69 to 24 respectively, saying this is a trend in the right direction. . .
