Maseru, Aug. 19 – In an effort to fight back crime in the country, Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) have introduced information boxes in various communities, inviting citizens to anonymously provide tips about criminal activities instead the public’s reaction to this initiative has been mixed.
In a conversation with the Agency, Mrs. ‘Mathato Maketsi, a street vendor, expressed cautious optimism about this initiative that she believes the boxes can be effective only if people provide truthful information.
“The boxes could work only if people can give truthful information about a particular crime,” she said.
On the other hand, Ts’eliso Maketsi, a taxi driver, emphasized that it is important for the police to follow-through tips they receive. . .
