MP’s, STAKEHOLDERS ON CYBER SECURITY BILL

Maseru, Aug. 19 – National Assembly members under Prime Ministers Ministries Committee led deliberations on the Computer Crime and Cyber Security Bill, 2024 in Maseru on Monday.

Addressing participants, The Chairperson of the Committee, Mr. Kobeli Letlailana highlighted the importance of the meeting in building consensus in relation to the draft Bill seeking to ensure security in the cyber space.

He alluded that after the Constitution, this law has turned out to be the most crucial as the world is operating in the technological era, where cyber-attacks seem dynamic day by day, thus needing immediate attention.

In the same note, the Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), Mr. Kanono Ramashamole indicated that the draft Bill is part of government’s efforts meant to protect the cyber space especially seeing that the law is long overdue. . .
