MINISTRY DELIBERATES ON MIGRANT WORKERS’ RIGHTS

Maseru, Nov. 23 — In an attempt to deliberate on protection of the rights of migrant workers and their families, the Ministry of Law and Justice through Human Rights Unit will hold a two-day validation workshop in Maseru next week.

The two-day workshop on the international convention on the protection of the rights of all migrant workers and members of their families seeks to gather inputs and information for strengthening the livelihoods of these migrant workers.

This will also improve the draft report, to reflect the true status of the convention prior submission to the monitoring body, Ministry’s Public Relations Manager, Mrs. ‘Malesaoana Mohale has said.

She stated that the country ratified the convention in 2004, thereby assuming the responsibility and obligation to report to the monitoring body on the domestic implementation of the provision of the convention.
