Mokhotlong Nov.19– Mokhotlong Business Forum together with two associations that affiliate to it led a peaceful march from Malingoaneng pitso ground to Polihali Operations Centre where they were to present a petition to the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) Chief Executive Mr. Tente Tente in the district on Tuesday.
The Business Forum was joint by members of the Mokhotlong community from different parts of the district who were conveyed to Malingoaneng by buses, mini buses, trucks and Vans.
The forum had a long list of grievances, but on top of them all was their demand for the Polihali Branch Operations Manager Mr. Gerard Mokone to leave Polihali and the entire district of Mokhotlong with immediate effect.
They alleged that Mr. Mokone has not been cooperative with them and that he is corrupt and competing with the Mokhotlong contractors as they alleged he is a shareholder in some of the companies working at Polihali.
They demanded that he should be deployed some where else and bring an employee who will be cooperative and be willing to address the complaints of the communities affected by the implementation of the second phase of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) which include construction of the Polihali dam, Transfer Tunnel and Senqu Bridge in the district. . . .
