LNDC PLANTS TREES AT BELO INDUSTRIAL SITE

Botha-Bothe, Mar. 29 — The Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC) has embarked on a tree-planting initiative at Belo Industrial site to protect the environment in the area.

Speaking at the event, LNDC General Manager for Corporate Services, Mr. Thabang Busa said the initiative began last year to ensure that industrial areas are environmentally protected. He noted that while 1,000 trees have already been planted, they are not enough given the vastness of the area, and more efforts will be made to ensure full coverage.

LNDC’s Health, Safety and Environment Officer, Mr. Mphatsi Nkotsi, highlighted that the corporation’s Strategic Development Plan for 2023-2028 emphasizes environmental conservation.

“A well-maintained environment attracts investors, which in turn helps grow our economy. It also ensures the sustainability of our factory shells. Trees provide numerous benefits, including oxygen,” he stated. MJL/TL
