MPs EXCHANGE VIEWS ON TIKOE PROJECT CORRUPTION 

Maseru, March 19 — Members of Parliament (MPs)have on Wednesday embarked on a lengthy and thorough debate on acts of corruption surrounding the Tikoe Industrial project.

This after the Leader of Basotho National Party Mr. Machesetsa Mofomobe moved to debate recommendation 5. 19 of the portfolio committee report on the Economic and Development Cluster on the Budget and Estimates for 2025/26 financial year, tabled in the House on March 10.

Recommendation 5.19 of the report provides that the proposed budget estimates amounting to M425.7 million in the Ministry of Energy for Belo and Tikoe Industrial Area projects should be disbursed based on the World Bank Group recommendation, which is the main funder of the project…
