Botha-Bothe, Oct. 24 — In celebration of Lesotho Highlands Development Day, the ‘Muela branch of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) visited two orphanages in Botha-Bothe and donated farming equipment, while also planting crops at one of the orphanages.
Speaking to the Lesotho News Agency, Communications Officer Mr. Seshophe Ramakoro said the LHWP is marking 38 years since the signing of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project treaty. He explained that the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) chose to commemorate this milestone by engaging in corporate social responsibility initiatives in the districts where the project operates.
“We selected two orphanages in Botha-Bothe and decided to assist them with farming activities. This is to demonstrate that food doesn’t always come from handouts or purchases but can also be produced in one’s own garden,” said Mr. Ramakoro. . .
