Maseru, Jan. 12 — Lisene Mapetla(30) of Ha Mapetla and Lefu Mohapi (21) of Ha Basofo appeared before Magistrate Qhomane charged with murder of Maseitlheko Mapetla.
The said accused persons are charged with contravening the provisions of section 40(1) and (2) of the penal code Act No.6 of 2010( Murder)
Mohapi and Mapetla on December 31, 2025 at Ha Bosofo in the district of Maseru unlawfully and intentionally caused the death of Maseitlheko Mapetla to which they stabbed her with a knife 16 times all over the body as a result causing wounds that led to her death.
The accused persons were informed about their right to bail and legal representation and were told by the court to apply for bail in the High Court as Magistrate Court is not responsible to grant bail on such a crime.
The accused persons are remanded to January 20 2026
