Maseru, May 29 — The Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture, through its Department of Sports and Recreation, in collaboration with Mantsopa Municipality Council of Free State in South Africa and the Office of District Administrator in Maseru are intending to stage a Cross Border marathon.
The proposed dates for this Cross Border marathon dubbed the Nation to Nation will be in the first week of December this year.
A joint meeting between the Local Organising Committee from Maseru and their counterparts from the Mantsopa Municipality Council was held at the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) in Maseru on Wednesday.
It was in this meeting where it was agreed that the Nation to Nation marathon and other sporting activities like Golf and Music Festival will be part of the activities in commemoration of Lesotho’s bicentennial anniversary of its existence while the Republic of South Africa will also be celebrating 30 years of democracy since 1994.
