Maseru, Nov.14 — Long-time serving Member of Parliament Mr. Sello Maphalla says only the National Assembly can determine the legibility of Members of Parliament and their seats.
This he said following the letter of demand by Member of Parliament (MP) for Thaba-Moea Mr. Lejone Puseletso through his lawyer Advocate Letuka Molati which states that Mr. Monyane Moleleki of Alliance of Democrats (AD) and Mr. Motlalepula Khahloe of Movement for Economic Change (MEC) to withdraw their names from the letter of the 61 MPs that attached to the affidavit of Mr. Mootsi Lehata in the pending constitutional court case per Lejone Puseletso vs Speaker of National Assembly and 53 others constitutional case number 0020 / 2023.
It states that they shall realize that in terms of the provisions of Section 188 they have lost their status as MPs the moment they attached their signature on the said letter. . .
