Qacha’s Nek, Oct. 07 — The District Disaster Management Team (DDMT) launched a crucial mobilization effort, uniting community leaders, chiefs, councilors, village health workers and community policing forums to combat the dual crisis of food insecurity and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) on Monday.
This initiative follows a three-day workshop dedicated to addressing these pressing issues, heralding the introduction of a vital humanitarian project, the Provision of Life-Saving Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Services.
Targeting the hardest hit districts of Qacha’s Nek and Thaba-Tseka, the program aims to deliver immediate assistance to vulnerable communities grappling with limited access to essential health services.
At the meeting, DDMT member Mr. Motautona Thabo, also the Qacha’s Nek Divisional Secretary for the Lesotho Red Cross Society, highlighted the multifaceted impact of drought.
