NUL STUDENTS LIKELY TO GO TO COURT

Maseru, Apr. 15 — Following arrest of some students of the National University of Lesotho (NUL) after their protest last week where they vandalized property and broke doors to one of the retail supermarkets in Roma, they are likely to go to court.

This was disclosed by Officer Commanding Roma Police Inspector Jeremane Motake where he said that they had sought a directive from the Director Public Prosecution (DPP) but they were directed to advise the supermarket to deal with the matter as a civil case and not criminal.

He said that they were told that they (police) do not have enough evidence to place the suspects to the incident hence they have to refer the matter to the supermarket.

He explained that they had taken in six members of the Students Representative Council (SRC) and one female student.
