Maseru, Oct. 21 — The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is functioning effectively and getting results unlike in the past when it was perceived as a toothless dog.
This was said by PAC Chairperson Mrs. Machabana Lemphane Letsie when unpacking PAC’s role within the Southern African Development Community Organisation of Public Accounts Committees (SADCOPAC).
Mrs. Lephane Letsie said nowadays people complain of massive measures taken by PAC against people who misused public funds, labelling it as overreaching.
She emphasised that the committee acts according to law when interrogating witnesses, emphasising that it remains committed to ensuring that those who misuse public funds pay.
