Quthing, Oct. 20 — The one-week Measles and Rubella (MR) Immunization Campaign has been launched with high momentum at vaccination sites across nine health clinics in the district from Monday this week.
Vaccination teams from health centres have been actively present at various village-based immunization sites to ensure that every child under the age of five receives immunization against MR. The campaign, which is ongoing throughout the country, aims to protect all children aged 0 to 59 months from vaccine-preventable diseases.
In an interview with the Agency, District Medical Officer Dr. Makarants’i Mohlapiso encouraged vaccination teams to maintain their dedication throughout the campaign to help the district reach its goal of immunizing over 8,000 eligible children.
Dr. Mohlapiso also urged teams to support one another at vaccination sites, conduct daily reviews of their work, identify challenges, and ensure they are addressed to meet the campaign targets.
