PLANNED PROCESSION TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRIME MINISTER

Maseru, April 01 — Lesotho Police Staff Association Leadership (LEPOSA) reached a decision to proceed with the planned procession to the Prime Minister’s (PM) office.

The procession is dated for April 16 aiming to seek direct feedback and resolution on their request regarding inflation adjustment and police allowances.

In an interview with LEPOSA General Secretary, Makatleho Mphetho adds that the association leadership has formally written to the Dispol Maseru Urban requesting permission to hold a peaceful procession to the Office of the PM regarding critical issues affecting members.

She said that the decision is in connection with the previous letter submitted on February 24, 2026.

Memorandum emphasises that the Government Spokesperson recently indicated that the LEPOSA leadership would be invited by the PM to discuss their concerns but until now no engagement has taken place.

LEPOSA has requested a 36 percent salary adjustment, citing that for 10 years their salary adjustments have not aligned with the inflation rate, and the 36 percent is expected to close the inflation gap created in those years, and an increase on the police allowance.
