PM WITNESSES HARVESTING AT HA MAKHOATHI

Maseru, Aug. 03 — The higher yield acquired at fields based at ha Makhoathi in Thaba – Bosiu signifies that the country could combat hunger and poverty through farming.

This was said by the Prime Minister Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane when addressing farmers at Ha Makhoathi during maize harvesting on Thursday.

The PM said if 47 bags, which was just a quarter of a field in which about 250 bags are expected shows that the country is capable to produce it’s own food.

“I’m proud of what I see because the owner of this field might go home with about 60 bags of maize” he said.

He therefore encouraged Basotho to prepare for summer cropping as higher yield is also expected in winter cropping. . .
