POLICE OFFICER IN HOT SOUP WITH DCEO

Maseru, Jan.24 — The Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) officer is reported to have been apprehended in connection with accepting bribes by the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Offences (DCEO).

This was confirmed by the Senior Public Relations Officer Mrs. ‘Matlhokomelo Senoko saying that the suspect is serving as the deputy officer commanding the Maputsoe Police station at the rank of Senior Inspector. 

Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Wednesday, Mrs. Senoko said that the suspect is reported to have requested a certain security company which its firearm license had expired to make a payment which was intended to release from the police the security officer whom the firearm was found in his possession and to also conceal this matter. . .
