Qacha’s Nek, Jan.24 — In an effort to promote child protection, the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development (MoGYSD) through its legal and adoption office has held a one-day workshop on placement of children in need of care and protection at the places of safety for the District Child Protection Team (DCPT) members.
MoGYSD Chief Legal Officer, Mrs. ‘Mampoja Mokorosi said the Ministry as the custodian of the abondoned and vulnerable children is mandated to protect these children and this includes finding temporary and permanent homes for them.
Permanent homes she said is through adoption while temporary homes include foster care and placement at care facilities.
