POULTRY FARMERS TO ACQUIRE MANAGEMENT SKILLS

Berea, April 02 — In a bid to promote sustainability of poultry farming, TKM Agricultural Solutions will embark on a weeklong poultry management workshop for at least 50 farmers from different parts of the country at Sekemaneng, Berea starting from Monday next week.

This was revealed by TKM Agricultural Solutions Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Malefane Ts’iu during an interview with LENA on Tuesday.

Mr. Ts’iu said it has come to their attention that many people venture into poultry farming without necessary skills and most of them normally run loss or even go bankrupt only because they lack proper skills.

He said having identified such a gap, they saw a need to build capacity of such poultry farmers in different areas of management which among other include proper ways of handling them from the stage of chicks by identifying and addressing their critical needs at every stage of growth, cost effective ways of feeding them, records keeping and selling them while they still have market value.
