Maseru, July 03 — Princess Senate Mohato Seeiso has encouraged learners with visual impairment to work hard, believe in their abilities and pursue their dreams.
This she said when presenting gifts which included toiletries, school shoes and groceries to learners at St. Bernadette Resource Centre for the Blind on Wednesday, as part of the annual Minor Foundations Day celebrations organized by Shoeshoe ea Moshoeshoe Foundation in partnership with Avani Hotels and Resorts in Lesotho.
The Princess indicated that disability does not define a person’s potential or limit their opportunities for success, commenting learners for attending school against all odds as education is key to success.
“When you experience life’s challenges or moments of uncertainty, always remember that God is with you,” she stressed, urging learners to take good care of gifts.
Speaking at the same event, Avani Hotels and Resorts in Lesotho General Manager Mr. Letsoso Mohasoa said the gesture formed part of the organization’s annual social responsibility of giving back to the community, expressing gratitude for Shoeshoe ea Moshoeshoe for creating a platform for them to fulfil this responsibility.
He also commended St. Bernadette staff for their dedication to providing quality education to learners with visual impairment as they are future leaders whose potential is not limited by their disability, calling on other corporate citizens to extend a helping hand.
On behalf of the School, Mr. Maanela said the gesture signified love and compassion that would go a long way in motivating learners in their learning, saying it would help them feel valued and included regardless of their disability.
One of the Learners, Moipone Baleni, expressed gratitude over the gesture, saying they aspire to become future leaders.
Shoeshoe ea Moshoeshoe was launched earlier this year by Princess Senate Mohato Seeiso and is meant to extend a helping hand for educational needs of the less privileged learners in different schools countrywide.
