PRINCIPAL HIGHLIGHTS CRITICAL SHORTAGE OF MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS FOR STUDENTS

Qacha’s Nek, Aug. 12 — Access to menstrual products remains a challenge for at least 20 pupils at Sepechele Government Primary School in Mosafeleng.

This issue was highlighted by Principal Mrs. Mathabang Molatelle during an interview with the Agency.

Mrs. Molatelle revealed that some students are forced to use pieces of cloth, and some even struggle to manage their menstruation at school, leading to absenteeism. She noted that children from poorer families have limited access to sanitary towels.

Previously, the school raised funds through concerts and sales to support students, but since the advent of COVID-19, the situation has worsened. “It is worrisome,” Mrs. Molatelle said, calling for assistance.
