WFP, PARTNERS DRIVE CLIMATE RESILIENCE IN QACHA’S NEK COMMUNITIES

QACHA’S NEK, Dec.09 — In a proactive move to boost climate change adaptation, the World Food Programme (WFP), through its Improving Adaptive Capacity of the Vulnerable and Food Insecure Populations in Lesotho (IACoV) project, launched a week-long initiative to capacitate communities on climate resilience.

The campaign, in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Team (DDMT), kicked off on Monday in Ha Noosi and is set to conclude on Friday in Qhoalinyane.

Targeted villages include Ha Noosi, Matebeng, Mosaqane, Sehlabathebe, and Qhoalinyane.

The initiative follows the September development of District Action Plans aligned with the National Climate Change Communication Strategy (NCCCS), a 2021 framework aimed at enhancing public understanding of climate change and promoting adaptive behaviour. . .
