Mokhotlong — The issue of securing a landfill for proper waste management in the district became a bone of contention at the Head of Departments (HODs) meeting held on Tuesday.
Discussions intensified over the issue showing a serious concern from the District Administrator together with HODs about the need for the district to have a landfill instead of a dumping site to use for waste management.
The District Administrator raised concern over the dumping site at Lentsoete, on the way to a village called Ha Mojakisane saying the waste materials especially of plastic bags have flown all over the fields in those areas indicating that, there is no proper waste management done at the dumping site.
Mr. Kepa Keqe stated that an immediate action has to be taken to ensure that a landfill is constructed to keep Mokhotlong district dirty.
He suggested that the relevant stakeholders should engage the business Community and discuss how the landfill can be implemented for the development of Mokhotlong.
HODs meeting is held on monthly basis to discuss issues aimed towards the development of the district…
