Maseru, Feb.11— The prosecution in an ongoing treason trial before the High Court has been given today to prepare to proceed with the case.
This was after the two lawyers who prosecuted the matter Advocates Motene Rafoneke and Rethabile Setlojoane told the court that they are unable to proceed with the case as they no longer have a brief adding that they have filed an application for withdrawal from the case.
This was also after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Adv. Hlalefang Motinyane who was summoned by the court to explain issues surrounding the withdrawal, could not tell the court if the two lawyers still have the brief or not.
She however confirmed that there are issues between her office and the two lawyers. She indicated that what is happening is beyond her control adding that there are other offices involved. She however could not disclose details of the matter indicating that it is lawyer and client privilege…
