PUBLIC URGED TO SUPPORT MR IMMUNIZATION CAMPAIGN

Quthing, Sept. 05 — The Expanded Programme Immunization (EPI) Deputy Manager in the Ministry of Health, Nursing Sister Ramakhunoane has called for the public to join efforts in making a one-week Measles-Rubella (MR) immunization campaign scheduled for October 20 successful.

Nursing Sister Ramakhunoane said this in an interview at a roadshow held to promote vaccinations across all age groups for prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases, at Atamelang within Mphaki health service area on Thursday this week.

She explained that vaccines are the most effective and safe way to prevent infectious disease, adding that they are safe, hence people are encouraged to get immunized for good health.

EPI Deputy Manager commended SSL project for support in mobilization of the community to ensure that adults and children get vaccines for prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases that are a health risk.
