QACHA’S NEK EMBRACES OPERATION BOLOKA LESOTHO LE HLOEKILE

Qacha’s Nek, Jan. 17  — On Friday, Qacha’s Nek district joined the national cleaning campaign dubbed Operation Boloka Lesotho le Hloekile to promote cleanliness and environmental responsibility.

Led by District Administrator Mr. Habofanoe Pheku, the campaign aims to establish a culture of cleanliness across Lesotho.

The initiative, relaunched on April 28, 2023, by Prime Minister Ntsokoane Matekane in Maseru, will take place every second Friday of the month.

Speaking to the Agency, Mr. Pheku expressed enthusiasm over the turnout, noting that many participants (primarily civil servants) joined despite the campaign being announced on short notice.

“It was very good, especially considering the short notice. The announcement was made only during the week,” he said.

However, the event faced logistical hurdles, including a lack of cleaning materials.

Mr. Pheku revealed he personally purchased supplies to ensure the campaign’s success, with additional support from the Ministry of Health, which provided gloves and plastic bags.. .
