Maseru, Oct. 21 — Nine journalists from print, radio and social media have walked away with awards for excellent performance in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) news stories.
Lesotho News Agency (LENA) reporter Mrs. Maseipone Mokhethi who won a second prize in print media received M1000, a trophy and a T-shirt said the journey was an enjoyable one although a bit tough.
The awards prepared by Next Einstein Forum (NEF) were focusing on the best Lesotho SDG content creation, in an attempt to encourage journalists to write positively about their country, and move away from all the negativity that seems to dominate the news every week.
NEF Ambassador, Mr. Letsatsi Lekhooa said the initiative was to ensure that positive stories are seen and heard in the media, in order to push the implementation of the SDGs.
