ROLL CAPACITATE STAKEHOLDERS ON NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

Berea, Oct 19 — In a bid to increase public’s knowledge on natural resources management, Regeneration of Livelihoods and Landscapes (ROLL) project has completed a two-day training for 32 participants made of bee keepers and grazing association at Teyateyaneng on Thursday.

In her remarks, ROLL Project Field Officer Mrs. Mapita Morapeli said the primary objective of the training was to instil a broader knowledge to stakeholders about the importance of natural resources in their respective fields and life in general.

Mrs. Morapeli said natural resources encompass many issues such as soil, water, air, range lands and others, but recently they are faced with land degradation, therefore the training was intended to help them understand their environment and the role they can play in protecting it while they still pursue their lives.

She pointed out that both stakeholders utilize natural resources differently for survival, adding that their livestock graze on the rangelands, while bees get pollen on such natural vegetation, therefore through this initiative they are trying to help them to realize their importance on natural resources protection.
