ROMAN CATHOLIC CELEBRATES EASTER WITH HOLY MASS

Quthing April 06 – – As part of activities to celebrate Easter, Christians from Roman Catholic Church (RC) in Villa Maria at Mokanametsong and Holy Infant at Upper Moyeni will attend a holy mass at their respective churches until Sunday this week.

In an interview the Leader of the Roman Catholic church at Villa Maria in Mohanametsing OMI Katase Katase said the Holy Mass event is intended to bring Christians together in prayer during this time when Jesus Christ sacrificed his life to save them from their sins.

He noted that this is the time in which Christians have to gather together in prayer including those who could not go to the church due to their unforeseen circumstances. He added that the Christian life forces Christians to support each other during good and tough times as Jesus ordered them to do so in the holy scriptures.

He further said the principle of Christianity is to support each other, demonstrate unity and revive each other spiritually to have strength to overcome different challenges faced by Christians and other public groups.

He noted that Christians from different areas gather at the organised outposts of the Roman Catholic Church in their respective areas. Villa Maria RC has five out stations while Holy Infant church also has five out stations.

OMI Katase said a similar event will be held in all RC churches in the country.

Easter is a principal holiday that marks the resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion. Quthing different spiritual and Christian churches annually mark the holidays.
