CRROA SETS HOPE ON COMMISSION OF INQUIRY

Maseru, Apr. 23 — EX-Offenders Association says it sets its hope on the newly established Commission Of Inquiry which resumed its duties on Monday.

The Commission Of Inquiry was appointed by the government with the objective to investigate  the alleged ill-treatment of inmates by Lesotho Correctional Service Officers during a search exercise that was conducted in December last year at Central Prison.

Crime Prevention, Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Ex-Offenders Association (CRROA) Executive Director Mr. Nkalimeng Mothobi said inmates rights have for years been violated at correctional institutions, a place which is entrusted to rehabilitate inmates…
