SENATORS ORDERED TO LEAVE HOUSE 

Maseru, Feb. 21 — Following suspension of the House, the Speaker of National Assembly Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane ordered the Leadership of the Senate to leave the House.

They included the President of the Senate, Mrs. Mamonaheng Mokitimi and Deputy President Mr. Tsukatlane Au as well as other Senators.

Mr. Sekhamane said this was to allow normal sitting of the National Assembly.

Senators therefore sat in the boardroom while the normal sitting of the house continued.

Meanwhile, Members of Parliament continued with normal sitting of the House and tabled the report of the portfolio committee on the Economic and Development Cluster on Workmen’s Compensation Regulations 2024, report of the portfolio committee on the Economic and Development Cluster on Business Licensing and Registration Amendment Regulations 2024 as well as report on the campaign to celebrate 16 days of activism against gender based violence.

In addition the Administration of Estates and Inheritance Bill and Occupation Safety and Health Bill were also presented.

The House also approved the financial proposals contained in the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the year 2024/2025.

The House then adjourned for the consideration of the 2024\2025 annual estimates.
