STARLINK TO HIT LESOTHO NEXT YEAR

Maseru, Dec.14 — As part of efforts to provide high speed, low latency internet access to even most remote areas of the world, Starlink, a satellite internet project led by SapceX will hit Lesotho next year.

Lesotho is among all the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries to benefit from this with the exception of South Africa.

According to information from Starlink, Lesotho is set to benefit greatly from this revolutionary technology saying because of its terrain and scattered population Lesotho has long struggled with limited access to reliable internet connectivity.

It states that traditional infrastructure, such as fibre optic cables, is expensive to deploy and maintain in such challenging geographical conditions. As a result, many rural areas in Lesotho have been left behind in the digital age, with limited access to educational resources, healthcare services, and economic opportunities. . .
