Maseru, April 15. — Sello Mpela who is aged 22 and Lereko Mabusetsa aged 19 and Mohloki Koatsi aged 18 have appeared in Qacha`s Nek Magistrate court on April 13, 2023 this year.
Lesotho Mounted Police Service(LMPS) reports, says these boys are accused of assaulting an 18-year-old girl.
According to the reports there is one other suspect who is 15 years’ old that has not yet appeared before court and is undergoing rehabilitation as he is still young.
The reports further indicated that on April 1, the accused Mohloki Koatsi went to the victim’s house and asked her to accompany him to go and watch over the cattles.
They also added that the victim agreed and went with the accused and they landed somewhere in the middle of the fields, after a while the other suspects appeared out of nowhere.
The reports concluded by adding that they molested her and when they satisfied themselves they left her there but thankfully there was a passer-by who noticed the girl and took her to the chief, that is where the chief reported the case to the police and the suspects were arrested.
The victim has a mental disorder.
The suspects are waiting for a case in custody and they will appear in court again on April 25, 2023 this year with a chance to apply for bail.
This is the first crime of this calibre in the area and the Police has urge community member to go into community policing in order to avoid such.
