TLOUTLE VANDALISM SUSPECT ARRESTED

Maseru, Oct.31—Following the public gathering held in Tloutle, Roma last Wednesday aimed at warning the community against vandalism, a 26 year old man of Pae-la-Itlhatsoa is reported to have been arrested earlier this week.

In an interview Senior Inspector Maseli Maseli, police stationed at the Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) confirmed the arrest saying it happened through a tip off they got from members of the community.

Three electricity poles were cut down on October 22 leaving Tloutle, Ha-Seqoma and Khobeng villagers without electricity for about two  days.

Thereafter, LEC called a public gathering condemning acts of this nature as they are too costly.

Senior Inspector Maseli said the suspect has appeared before  court and is in custody.

Meanwhile it was during the public gathering that community members pledged to find perpetrators.

The damage was estimated to be M35,000.
