VILLAGERS WALK OUT ON QACHA’S NEK PRINCIPAL CHIEF

Qacha’s Nek, Aug. 27 — A public meeting intended to clarify leadership changes in Qacha’s Nek took a dramatic turn on Wednesday when outraged villagers abruptly walked out, accusing Principal Chief Mojela Makotoko Theko Makhaola of disrespect.

The gathering held at Melele ground was attended by residents from urban areas including Sehlekehlekeng, Lifofaneng, Keiting, Hill-Top, Motse-Mocha, Lebaleng, Leropong and TJ.

Villagers had come to hear explanations following the sudden removal of Town Chief Nkuebe Makhaola, a move that sparked controversy and a formal petition dated July 21, signed by area chiefs demanding Nkuebe’s reinstatement.

“The public humbly asks for a quick solution,” the petition read.
