VULNERABLE WOMEN IN FARMING

Botha-Bothe, Mar. 10 — With the alarming high rate of unemployment and food insecurity, some Botha-Bothe women have resorted to farming with the purpose of feeding their own families together with surrounding communities.

Letobong Ramohapi Broiler’s Association was established in 2014 by 11 widowed women, single-parent and taking care of disabled grandchildren in the village of Letobong. These women started off with a society that would collect money from each of the members until they realised they had collected enough money to start a project.
