Maseru, March 10 — A few hours ahead of Moshoeshoe’s day, women from different associations known as ‘Pitiki’ convened in Maseru, to honour and commemorate the founding father of the nation.
Speaking with the Agency, Mrs. ’Mathamae Thoo of Maputsoe, Ha Chonapase from a women association known as ‘Tycoons’ said their gathering is meant to empower and motivate all, especially women so that they can contribute more in enhancing values and principles of the late father of the nation.
She stated that the need to groom children in such a way that they would remember the roots, culture but above all Sesotho language which distinguishes them from other nations.
“We will later be airing our programme on the national television, where our message will be communicated to Basotho, especially women,” she said. AM/TL
