WOMEN STILL FACED WITH MANY CHALLENGES MP’S

Maseru, March 08 — Some of the women’s Members of Parliament (MPs) have stated that women are still facing many challenges of abuse, poverty and joblessness in the country.

They told the Agency in an interview outside the new Parliament building on Friday that a lot still needs to be done to empower women in the country.

Chairperson of the Women’s Caucus in Parliament Mrs. ‘Makatleho Motsoasele said the 11th parliament needs to enact laws which will scare away possible law offenders not to commit criminal offences against women.

She said women still live in fear in the country due to the high rate of sexual offences perpetrated against them.
