ACL PRAYS FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION CANDIDATES

Mokhotlong Sept. 24 — The Anglican Church of Lesotho (ACL) held a special prayer service for candidates contesting the Local Government Elections on Sunday.

Elections are scheduled for September 29 this year.

The ACL Priest in Mokhotlong, Reverend Father Motlatsi Taeli said he decided to hold the prayer service for peaceful elections in the district and nationwide.

He urged all to accept the election results for peace and stability, adding that those who will win should ask for God’s wisdom and guidance to perform their duties as expected.

There are 564 candidates in 73 Electoral Divisions who are campaigning for the elections in Mokhotlong, the District Electoral Officer Mr. Monaheng Ntoi has said.

He explained that the candidates include men, women and youth contesting under the political parties while others are independent candidates.

There are five Councils that include, Urban, Seate, Mphokojoane, Menoaneng and Sanqebethu within the Mokhotlong district.

A similar prayer service was held for those who stood for the past National Assembly elections.
