Mohale’s Hoek, Sept. 17 — An officer commanding Mohale’s Hoek Correctional Services Senior Superintendent (Snr. Spt.) Letlaka Banyane has pleaded with relevant authorities to assist the institution in every way possible, rather than viewing inmates as individuals who are there only to chow taxpayers’ money.
Snr.Spt. Banyane stated this during the Food and Nutrition Campaign Launch held at the Institution’s premises, by noting that Lesotho has signed the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules For Treatment Of Offenders, and the document stipulates that offenders should be given proper health care services, as well as descent meals.
He further articulated that in ancient times issues of nutrition were not highly taken into consideration by institutions, noting that things have changed tremendously as they currently have Nutritionist who monitors meals, as well as a nurse. . .
